For the past 30 years Twyla has been and continues to be a partner in Rusnak Gallant Ltd, designing and building beautiful gardens and estates in Victoria, Vancouver and throughout the Gulf Islands (along with specialized projects across Canada).
Trained as a Landscape Architect, Twyla and her husband and partner Illarion Gallant have focused their careers on a design/ build approach to creating landscapes and public art. This hands-on approach has been invaluable in building her vast knowledge of plant material and plant health, along with an in depth understanding of colour, texture and composition.
Since moving to the 'Farm', Twyla and her team have created extensive display/trial gardens and outdoor living areas, a large vegetable patch, outbuildings and pens for all the farm animals and now Twyla’s Flower Farm. Twyla raises organic chickens and turkeys and the farm is currently home 2 dozen chickens, a permanent pair of turkeys, 4 geese, 2 beehives, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 grown children (23/25) and 1 husband!

July 1, 2020 marked the beginning of the Art of Floristry at Twyla’s Flower Farm when Rekha arrived to make this dream even bigger! What was a fledgling flower farm with its first season of blooms instantly became a world class floral design studio with Rekha at its helm. Since that day the Flower Studio has evolved to be a very special place full of light and beauty.
Rekha Molleken | Lead Floral Designer
Our lead Floral Designer Rekha comes with all the knowledge and experience and talent that anyone could hope for and has become integral in all aspects of planning, growing, cutting and arranging.
Rekha trained in England at the renowned Floral School of Constance Spry and in Germany with Silver Medalist Gisela Breuer before moving to Canada to open her own florist shop in Vancouver (Mahonia Floral Works on Dunbar + 27th). Her time in Vancouver was spent providing spectacular floral creations for major hotels, societies, private homes and large events. She was the Florist for the Vancouver Art Gallery and is the only Florist to have had a solo show at the VAG.
Rekha leads our team of ‘farmer florists’ who start the day cutting our flowers and greens in the field and then arranging them for our farm stand and our ongoing subscriptions, special orders and events. Rekha’s oversight and direction keeps our quality of design and product consistently at the highest level.

Megan has been working and training alongside our lead Floral Designer Rekha to develop her art and skill in the field of floral design.
Flower Farm Team
Years of experience with local growers make these team members priceless. They are integral from start to finish of all field preparation and crop production. They high speed seed into hundreds of liners ahead of and throughout the growing season. This is followed by planting of thousands of seedlings, bulbs, tubers and corms into the fields that need constant weeding, tidying, clearing and seed collection. Without this team keeping up in the fields and the potting shed from March until after frost we would not be able to keep our beautiful bouquets coming out of our farm consistently.

Sophie’s hardworking, organized approach makes her the perfect field manager. She keeps production and harvesting and everything in between, in order!
